US Masters
Dates: Monday April 2nd to Sunday April 8th, 2007.
Location: Augusta National Golf Club, Augusta, Georgia, USA
Ticketing: US Masters tickets are only available direct to patrons (and you can't even get on the waiting list). You can buy tickets on the secondary market though, but expect to pay appropriate prices. Practice round tickets are available direct to the general public, but you need to apply well in advance. You can get on the list for 2007 if you apply before July 15, 2006. See the official site for information.
Road connections: Take the I-20 and watch for the signs at Augusta exits. Get parking and traffic advice here.
Air: The nearest major air hub is around 140 miles away at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. But Augusta has its own regional airport, and there are regular connections (1 hour flight) to Atlanta.
Accommodation and facilities: The Masters Housing Bureau coordinates private rentals of various property types. There's also a local hotel / motel reservation service and directory administered by the Augusta Metropolitan Convention and Visitors Bureau, with a special Masters hotline.
Local sights and sounds: Augusta is the second largest city in Georgia, so there's plenty to see and do. You can read a full visitor guide online here. Augusta.com also has a Golfer's guide, which covers courses, shopping, eating out and local attractions.
Tournaments before and after: Shell Houston Open ... MCI Heritage
Location and event tips: The Augusta National pro shop is open to the public during the Masters (you don't need a ticket). Let me know if you have any more tips.
