THE PLAYERS Championship

Dates: Monday, May 7th to Sunday, May 13th, 2007.

Ticketing: A $30 ticket gets you access to all three practice days at THE PLAYERS Championship. Each tournament day requires a daily pass costing $65. Alternatively, you can buy a larger package, such as a weekly pass for $175. The tickets are available online through the PGA Tour site, or by phone - all details at the official site.

Road connections: The TPC at Sawgrass is on the coast east of Jacksonville, off the A1A coastal road, which you can reach from the Interstate 95 via the 202. Directions from the airport (see below) are given on this page. Note that you'll need to watch for signs to official tournament parking lots. Free parking is at the University of North Florida, with a shuttle service to the event. Limited on-site parking passes can also be bought.
Air: The nearest commercial airport is Jacksonville, which is around 36 miles to the northwest and is served by many domestic US airlines.

Accommodation and facilities: PonteVedra.com has a small list of hotels local to the TPC site, including a Marriott on the doorstep. There's a longer list of options available from the linguistically-challenging "St.Augustine, Ponte Vedra and the Beaches, Florida Convention and Visitors Bureau." (Look under "where to stay".). If all else fails, you can find somewhere in Jacksonville, which is just a few miles to the east.

Local sights and sounds: If you want to get in a round or two while visiting, there's a local golf guide here. There's detailed info on nearby attractions at the Ponte Vedra and Jacksonville tourist sites. If you like your history, the area has some of the oldest buildings in the USA.
