Ticketing: You can order FBR Open tickets online, and the official site has the details how (may not yet be updated for 2007). Daily admission tickets in 2006 were $25 and there were various packages costing from $200 to $30,000.
Road connections:
The course is on the northeastern edge of Phoenix, accessible from the
101 loop, which you reach from the I17 coming from the north, or the I10
coming from the south. The TPC at Scottsdale website has brief driving
directions. There is free parking for spectators, with a shuttle
service to the tournament - details are given here.
Buses: Valley Metro
runs services into Scottsdale from Phoenix. Look for Bus Route 72,
Express Routes 510 and 512, and the Scottsdale Trolley.
Air: Scottsdale has a private
airport just a couple of miles from the course, but the nearest
commercial hub is Phoenix
Sky Harbor International which serves domestic locations, as well as
Canada, Mexico and London. The airport is just 23 miles south of the
tournament (follow the 202 and 101 roads).
Accommodation and facilities: The Scottsdale, Arizona Convention and Visitors Bureau has extensive accommodation listings, and also links to reservation and booking services. There are numerous resorts and hotels in the area.
Local sights and sounds: Scottsdale is one of the leading golf vacation destinations in the USA, so it's no surprise to find a dedicated golf section at the tourism site. There are a lot of events going on in the area. Phoenix itself is of course worth a look. You can learn about that city's delights at their own tourist venue.
