Bell Canadian Open
Dates: Monday, Sept 4th to Sunday, Sept 10th, 2006
Location: Hamilton Golf & Country Club, 232 Golf Links Road, Ancaster, Ontario, Canada L9G 2N5
Ticketing: Tournament tickets are available by phone or online - see the details here. A pass for the week costs just under $145 at the moment (March 2006). Daily tickets are between $10 and ca. $65, depending on the day. I assume those are Canadian dollar prices.
Road connections: Ancaster is on the west side of Hamilton, which rests on the western tip of Lake Ontario, close to Toronto. The course adjoins the 403.
Air: John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport serves the city, with many domestic flights, and a few to the USA and elsewhere. It's just a few miles to the southeast of the tournament location. Those looking to fly in from the USA might be better off landing at either Toronto (45 miles) or Buffalo/Niagara (85 miles).
Accommodation and facilities: The Hamilton tourism folk have a list of hotels and other places to stay in the city. If the choice is too small, consider staying a little further afield in Burlington.
Local sights and sounds: You can learn a little about the Town of Ancaster at this community site, though the area is actually a ward of Hamilton. The latter has its own tourism site, where you can learn of such attractions as the Canadian Football Hall of Fame or local ghost walks. The Canadian Open coincides with various festivals in the city, such as the month-long Festitalia.
Tournaments before and after: Deutsche Bank Championship ... 84 Lumber Classic
