Arnold Palmer Invitational

Dates: Monday, March 12th to Sunday, March 18th, 2007.

Location: Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill Club & Lodge, 9000 Bay Hill Boulevard, Orlando, Florida 32819, USA. Tel: 407.876.7774 (ticket office), 407.876.2888 (tournament office)

Ticketing: Tickets to the Arnold Palmer Invitational are usually available online from the official site (may not be ready for 2007). Daily tickets in 2006 were $35 for practice days and $45 for each tournament day. Or you got a weekly pass for $85. Other packages were available as well. There were small discounts if you used a Mastercard (who sponsor the tournament).

Road connections: Bay Hill is located in southwest Orlando, near Interstate 4 (take exit 74/74a). Unless your ticket allows on-grounds parking, you'll need to park at nearby Universal Studios and use the shuttle bus service. Directions to Bay Hill itself are here. More directions and info on parking lots are in the official website's spectator guide.
Air: Orlando International is about 17 miles to the east of Bay Hill.

Accommodation and facilities: The Orlando Convention and Visitors Bureau has an accommodations directory - the nearest regions to Bay Hill (to pick in the search box) are either "I-Drive / Convention Center" and "Universal sector." Note that the Disney World Resort is just a few miles to the southwest, home of the Funai Classic.

Local sights and sounds: Gosh, what can't you do in Orlando? There's the Disney resort mentioned above, but also, for example, Universal Studios Resort and Theme Park, SeaWorld Orlando and many many more top attractions. Visit the local tourist site for suggestions.

Tournaments before and after: Tampa Bay Championship ... CA Championship

Location and event tips: The Bay Hill Club and Lodge is Arnold Palmer's home course. The tournament used to be called the Bay Hill Invitational. Let me know if you have any tips.
