PGATOUR.COM - Triplett helps foster kids find homes
Another thumbs up to a PGA Tour pro using his profile and golf bag to help those less fortunate. Kirk Triplett's efforts on behalf of children seeking foster homes nicely complements Briny Baird's efforts to find missing children.

Congrats to Fuzzy Zoeller and Phil Mickelson for winning thir tournaments on Sunday. The latter's win has put even more life into the PGA Tour, as another big player returns to winning ways. Could be some big time showdowns on the way later in the season.

One of the things about the media that disappoints me is how eager they can be to hassle incredibly talented golfers for simply having a bad year. Even though a "bad year" still means they're one of the best in the world. So I'm glad Phil Mickelson is looking good right now in the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic. He has many priorities, not just golf, and seems a decent guy.

Haas Just Won't Act His Age
Jay Haas explains why he's still up for the PGA Tour, even though he could play on the Champions Tour if he wished. Winning $2.5 million on the PGA Tour in 2003 seems like reason enough if you ask me.

OK, so she didn't make the cut...
...but she played as good as a whole host of top guys. Scoring the same or worse than Ms Wie were Darren Clarke, Kenny Perry, Jim Furyk, Ben Curtis, Stuart Appleby (who won last week's tournament), Scott Hoch, Adam Scott, Craig Stadler, and Jeff Sluman, to name just a few.

Hardly seems a day or two since the season ended, but this week sees the start of the 2004 PGA Tour with the Mercedes Championships in Hawaii.
Bookmakers have Tiger Woods as favorite, followed by Ernie Els and Vijay Singh. It's not that often that all three play in the same tournament, so it'll be interesting to see who gets thier nose in front for the new season.
