"Tiger is the best golfer ever, no bars held. No one else wins tournaments, Tiger loses." (April 24th, 2006)
COMMENTS FROM 2005:
Bob Wilson in London writes:
"During the Masters recently, I heard Ken Brown likening Tiger to
Muhammad Ali. I find this preposterous. Even though I have a great deal
of admiration for Tiger, to compare him to Ali is quite honestly obsurd.
Tiger is a golfer and is only known as a golfer. Ali on the other hand
transcended his sport like no other sportsman before him or since. When
Tiger comes over for "The Open", will we see him on Parkinson?
I doubt it, something that Ali did on three occasions. Would Tiger give
everything up he's worked for for his beliefs? I doubt it. You can
mention Tiger's name along with Jordan, Pele, Nicholas and Leonard
(Sugar Ray not Justin). But never, never Muhammad Ali."
Tal DeWitt from Fort Mill SC says:
"Tiger said in an interview that he can't understand why people
stare at him. All he is doing is walking around hitting a golf
ball. When he is close to people, he keeps his head down and tries
to get by as quickly as he can. If he knew how much these little
kids wait for the moment for him to look their way and wave, how much it
would mean to them." (Editor's note: there's an article about
this topic at the
Golf Channel.)
Dennis W. from Washington
writes:
"At the 2005 Masters did Woods cheat when he and his heavy caddie stormed the sixteenth hole when his ball hung on the lip causing vibration that caused the ball to move? The greens have a drainage system for rain drainage. Is this legal or...unethical?"
Jerry from Swanhouse B&B,
Seldovia, Alaska says:
"Tiger, congratulations on your win at the Masters on the past Sunday. You are one tough
competitor and I'm sure that the new swing will work out especially when you smooth it out. Good luck in the future with your game, family and hopefully a private life. Best of Luck."
F.G. Heath, U.S Army (RET),
Fayetteville, Georgia writes of the Masters win:
"Congratulations! It's always great that a Service Brat (Army, Air Force, Marine, Navy or Coast Guard ) is successful. It reflects great credit upon the family while they were in Service. I'm a fan because he is Service connected and I like golf."
A visitor says:
"I picked a school topic on Tiger then when I research him I see so many negative websites so Tiger
I say to you prove to these people that you can make the world better by showing your love and visiting kids with aids in Africa or just
visiting a hospital - so go and show them that you are a good person"
A visitor writes:
"I think that Tiger Woods has taught me that you need to
concentrate on the stuff that you do at school or on the golf course."
E.Webb - Philadelphia
says:
"If I was Trump I would say you are fired! At 3 under at Bayhill, and
ready to challenge on Sunday, Tiger imploded.
2005 swing is way too long. Can he swing any harder ? All he wants is to be the longest driver on tour.
As a big Tiger fan I am dismayed. He did not get " stuck " very often in 2000. See Adam Scott for the old Tiger look."
A visitor writes:
"Too much Tiger...too fawned over by the media. Hopefully we will see more Mickelson, Els, Goosen and Singh again this year!"
