Alex Latif, Calgary, Alberta says:
"I just want to wish you a wonderful 2007. Happen to follow every statistic of yours and just have this feeling that this is going to be another one of those wonderful years for you.

On behalf of my uncle Sam from Fiji, who you played with as a kid, we want you to go get em." (Dec 31, 2006)

COMMENTS FROM 2005:

Shiv writes:
"Vijay has tremendous resilience, it shows on day 3 and 4 in almost every tournament. His work ethic combined with talent is lethal. May 2006 be a major year for Vijay. All the best to u , Adriana and Qass"

AN in Seattle says:
"You make us all so proud of Fiji. Our best wishes to you."

RK from Indiana writes:
"Vijay, you are an inspiration to many of us golfers.  The US media is wrong in assuming that since you are not from the US many people wont want to watch you, on the contrary, many do, there is a grudging respect for what you do.  Your generosity in sharing tips with fellow players is well appreciated .. try getting a tip from Tiger, not that that's bad.

Vijay you inspire me, not only on the course but ouside it too, epecially with the work ethic.

Good luck this year..."

Wally from New Jersey says:
"Congratulations on your recent vitory at the Wachovia. Keep up the good work and may you have many more victories to come."

Craig Neudorf writes:
"I did not start out as one of Vijay's fans, probably because he was not from the U.S.A. and appeared to have a chip on his shoulder.. Today, I think the fact that he plays almost every week and gives the fans a unique chance to follow perhaps the world's greatest golfer (I haven't forgotten Tiger, he of course is great also) is really special.

Undeniably Vijay is a gentleman, a professional, a man of perseverance, a terrific role model, and of course a great golfer.

I know other people that would usually not pull for a non-american in sports who disliked Vijay at first, and now admire Vijay and pull for him oftentimes.

People like Vijay help educate people and teach them. It has been fun to watch Vijay become great and seemingly at peace with the world he lives in...I wish Mike Weir (I am Canadian) would follow your example, though I know every one has their own path.

Keep going Vijay!!"

D. Wood says:
"Vijay, the Houston Fijians are so proud of you. We attended the Houston Shell and gosh, you blew us away, not because you're a fellow countryman but because you're a great player. How do you stay so focused, pray tell?"

Don Bress from Queensbury NY writes:
"Congratulations on your entry to the Hall of Fame and by capping off your memorable week with your exciting win in the playoff at Houston over John Daly. What a fantastic week! It is rewarding to see all your hard work pay off. I cannot think of another player who works harder than you and it is enjoyable to see these great results. I look forward to many more years of success. You make the tour more exciting."

Phil from CA says:
"VJ epitomizes what is wrong with the PGA Tour, not what is good about it."

Anonymous from Oregon writes:
"Congratulations on entering the Hall of Fame, it was richly deserved. Your story is simply inspiring, and I wish more people appreciated and understood the magnitude of your achievements. More than anything else, though, what draws us to you is the sheer love you have for the game of golf itself, for the simple act of swing a golf club and hitting the ball. Your love for the game and the simple pleasure you derive in playing it is evident and moving. Rest assured, you have fans amongst those who truly love the game too, and will continue to watch your brilliant career. Good luck!"

A. Singh from Toronto, Canada says:
"You have made us (Fiji) so proud. We wish you all the success in 2005. Good luck. You are awesome."

Cy from Oxnard, CA writes:
"I have to admire the way Vijay runs his career. As good as he is, he is always there, no matter if the tournament is big or small. He lends his name to bring out the crowds.

PGA always talks about how the organization donates so much; well, it's more golfers like Vijay that make that happen. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Tiger - tournaments without him are dull, dull, dull, and I wish more golfers would just go for it the way he does.

Vijay, however, is a great example for those of us out here who play week after week at the muni courses. He practices, he appears and plays his best every time, and he seems to be relaxed even when he's not winning. What an example for all of us!"

Din Merican from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia says:
"Congratulations on your being elected to the Hall of Fame. You have also achieved the distinction of being the youngest player so far to have received this great honour. Your hard work, dedication and commitment to the pursuit of excellence will be an inspiration to future golfers from Asia. Please stay humble and very focussed, and do not let anything come in your way. You are on the way to joining the ranks of Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and the wonderful Gary Player."

Shyam from Chicago writes:
"I have spent countless hours watching Vijay Singh on TV, Golf Channel or at Golf Tournaments in Chicago. From Tee to Green he is one of the best, and if an extra 10% of his putts went in he would have won several more tournaments the last two years.

The puzzle to me is, given his capacity to practice, why can't this be done. There are a lot of putting coaches out there, or, if reading the greens is the problem then there must be good caddies out there.

Anyway, I hope someone has an answer. Personally, at least it would give me great enjoyment both in watching him winning and, more importantly, watch the media (particularly the Golf Channel) cringe - since he is obviously not a favourite of the media in the US. Plus, I am tired of listening about Tiger Woods. I used to have great fun watching him but the constant singular din (and drool) from the media has started hurting my ears.

Finally, there is no better inspiring story than Vijay Singh's rise from obscure beginnings to the top of his profession, and, therefore, I wish he can drop the 10% more putts."

Tui from Suva says:
"We are waiting for the big one - Augusta 2005. Fiji is behind you."

Silamban from Singapore writes:
"Indians generally fare poorly on the sports stage. Its shameful at times to see that such a large nation with an abundance of talents performs so poorly on the world stage. I hope that the Indian government takes it upon themselves to realise the importance of sports by seeing what non-resident Indians like Vijay can for the image of a country. I am proud that an Indian has scaled heights this high up... "

Johny from Lautoka says:
"No doubt you the best....but take a break and come home....just come home."

Dan F. from Ohio writes:
"Two words come to mind when thinking about Mr. Singh.....WORK ETHIC."

Manoj from Goa says:
"Vijay, you are the best...I think it's time the US media started to appreciate you. But if they don't, then don't worry. Win 10 tournaments this year and then the US media will have to accept you as the best in the world. But if you don't, you still are the best...Vijay congrats and I pray to god that you kick some ass this year again."
