"I just wanted to drop a line about Heath Slocum. A couple of years ago, my son was battling the same disease that Heath has. My son had surgery to remove his diseased colon. He is much better now--in fact if you didn't know about the surgery, you would not know that he was ever sick. Anyway, we watched Health battle in a tournament the week of my son's surgery; although Health finished second, his courage and determination showed my son that people do overcome adversity, and get stronger because of it. I wrote to Heath and told him about my son, and we received a very nice picture signed by Heath. I always look to see how Heath is competing, and look forward to seeing him play on the PGA."

"I had the pleasure of watching Mr. Heath Slocum's game at the Buick Classic, at Westchester G & CC, in Westchester, County, NY. I have to say he is an incredible golfer. He's quite possibly one of the greatest players to emerge from the Buy.com Tour, by winning 3 tournaments in one season. At the 2002 Buy.com Knoxville Classic, he coasted to victory with a -23.
He battled a serious illness, came back to the tournament circuit, and still played well.
He will win a tournament in the remaining 2003 season and many in the 2004 season!
