Johnny Hall from Climax, NC says:
"My three heroes from youth to present day have been Arnold Palmer, Tom Watson and Corey Pavin. All for the same reasons.... the pure heart and determination they exude when in battle. I have never met Mr. Palmer or Mr. Watson but I had the opportunity to meet Corey at the Libery Mutual Legends of Golf in Savannah in 2005. He was there as a caddy for a good friend of his who was playing in the Pro-am portion of the tournament, the same as me.
I didn't realize that he was standing right beside of me at the pairings party until a friend of mine pointed it out. Like most fans, I approached him hesitantly, not knowing if he would consider the intrusion as just that. I told him how big a fan I was, then I proceded to tell him that his chip-in at the Ryder Cup to beat Faldo was the greatest shot I'd ever seen. He was extremely nice to my friends and I and we casually talked for a few minutes. One of my friends had reminded me later that I should have told him that I predicted that "Chip-in" in the Ryder Cup, to the point where I had taken side bets on it, and eventually won around $500 total for that eventful shot.
Well, as luck would have, we ran into Corey and his friends at a Savannah retaurant the next night. We were amazed that Corey had remembered us. He stopped at our table and started to talk. My chip-in story came up and Corey got a big laugh out of it. Then he realized for me to have made the bet and won, that someone at the table had to have bet against him. He wanted to know who that was! We all laughed some more. Corey and friends eventually left the restaurant but not after a few more laughs and conversation.
It's funny how we create this unapprachable attitude about our heroes but in Corey's case it was anything but! What a good person, a fun person, one of the boys so to speak. Thank you Corey for sharing a part of you with us!" (Sept 8, 2006)

Kyle A. from Edmonton Canada writes:
"I just wanted to say way to go Corey on finishing in the top 5 at Bay Hill. I have been a huge fan since I followed you around at the 1987 Hawaii Open. (Which you won.) You deserve everything that comes your way. Go get 'em at Sawgrass."
COMMENTS FROM 2004:
Tom A from Indiana says of Paul Azinger and Corey Pavin:
"Knowing Sutton's fondness for dedication and motivation, would he consider naming these two golfers to the Ryder Cup?"
