COMMENTS FROM 2005:
Nicholas Costello from Houston writes:
"I send this hoping Scott McCarron reads this someday. I want to say thank you for making my 5 year old feel so special at the 2005 Shell Houston Open. While walking from 14 to 15 I was at the crosswalk holding my daughter and you walked over and handed her your golf ball.
It was a small gesture, but she will remember that moment more than any other. It made her day. No doubt we will frame this ball with your picture. I was impressed with your genuine kindness. On behalf of my daughter, Kerrington... Thank you!"
COMMENTS FROM 2003:
Jim Duncan from Napa Ca. says:
"I was not suprised to read of the thoughtfulness of Scott towards Jenni, the little girl at the Reno golf tourney (See comment from Debbie D.) He attended Vintage High School in the Napa Valley. A few years ago, during his busy golf schedule, he took the time to stop at a local golf course where the high school golf team was practicing.
He played a few holes with each group of the team. I am sure this was an absolute thrill for these young impressional players. What was so impressive was that he did this unannounced to the media, looking for no public adulation. I'm not surprised. To me, he is truly one of the real good guys on tour. I only wish there were more professional athletes like him."
Debbie D. from Reno writes:
"I don't know if there is any way to let Scott know how his actions after the play today at the Reno/Tahoe Open were apprecicated, but for one little girl he is the greatest golfer ever. My daughter was the shy girl with the visor on. She was ignored by several other golfers as they passed her by as she asked for their autographs. Maybe because she is so small for her age. I am really not sure.
He was on his way to sign his scorecard, paused for an interview with some local media, and sent his caddy over to give her a glove he had signed. He picked this little girl over all the screaming crowd of other people.
That moment has been all she has spoke of for the last several hours since we came home. If Scott does read this I just wanted to say "thank you" and let you know how a few seconds of your time has made a great memory for a little girl named Jenni."
