"The Heaney family enjoys the traditions of Scottish players dating back to our own Grandfather Crosse who traveled only 20 miles to Ireland to meet Grandmother Crosse. Today's loss to Markus Grier was not a typical day." (June 11, 2006)

"Hi Colin. I think that you are the best golfer in the world and love seeing you play and
I know you will win a major in 2005. I believe in you and I hope you never stop playing.
From your huge fan Kevin. God bless you man."

"You seemed like a new man over the weekend, Colin. You were just having a
ball. I've never seen you smile so much. I'm only a duffer, Colin, but after my divorce,
I never smiled so much on my next trip to the links."free at last, free at last."
Alan from Florida
says:
"I absolutely love watching you play the Ryder Cup matches. You truly bring the competition to a higher level and golf fans everywhere should appreciate your talent and desire to win. Hope you bag that first major in 2005!"

"I am an American who is proud of our Ryder Cup team and I always want them to win. Seems because of politics and our own poor taste Americans are not as well received as we'd like to be these days. Golf is a venue where Ladies and Gentlemen can prevail and often where the very best in people can be seen. The crowds can be tough, on either side of the Atlantic, but true lovers of golf enjoy playing and seeing a well-played round. I find myself rooting for Phil M., Ernie Els, Freddie Couples, Tiger Woods, and you.
You sir have the right stuff. I've seen it in your game as has anyone else
who's watched you play. The Major win will come; I hope at an Open and then you can have the bragging rights like the rest of that honored group who have won one or more of those cups. I wish you improved health, good times
on the links, and success."
Mel from Oxfordshire

"Dear Colin, I think you are lovely...take no notice of all the comments. My husband left me suddenly in February for someone else. I am 41 too and I know what guts it takes to get up go to work and face everyone and I don't have to do it
internationallly. Well done for going out there and playing gorgeous golf. You are gorgeous too.
Don't stop playing becuse it is great to watch you."
Jon from Great Britain
writes:
"Colin, I've been a huge fan of yours since I began playing the game. Your talent is endless, and it is a pleasure to watch you play. You deserve every success, and I sincerly hope you go on to win that major championship you thoroughly deserve. Britain's behind you, good luck."
COMMENTS FROM 2003:
Randy from Houston, TX says:
"Hey Monty,
Watched you play since you came on tour and you are so talented, but seem to be out of control of yourself sometimes. We all get that way from time to time.
It's unfortunate that we sometimes lack the ability to control our emotions when they can unravel our performance. I have thought about this a lot watching you and always think the same thing -- He controls the swing, the club, the course, the ball, if he could just control what's between his ears he would be unbeatable. Obviously you have some unresolved issues that plague you. Mine was fear. Fear that I wasn't going to be good enough. I generally would mask my fear with anger and that anger seemed to bring out all my other character defects and interfered with my performance. Maybe
it's time to seek out a spiritual mentor (not a religious one- someone you trust and can talk to who seems to have the inner peace that you could use).
It's the road to freedom and greater use of your God given abilities. Time to take a look within Colin. Greatness at the next level is still within your grasp. Good luck."
A visitor writes:
"Monty you are the greatest icon in golf. If I ever should print a golfer in my head without ever having seen one, they should look and behave like you. The good & the bad. We hope you continue playing in many years to come."
The van Heerden's in Zimbabwe say:
"Here in Zimbabwe we don't have much to make us smile about these days, however, watching Colin play golf is just the greatest thing. I think his swing is THE BEST and I try so hard to copy it. We follow his career with great interest and really enjoyed his autobiography. We smile with him and groan with him, stay cool Colin, we love you. Kindest regards, the van Heerden Family, Harare, Zimbabwe."
