"Oh my gosh!!! Serge is like one of the greatest spanish
legends...... I bet he would like the movie spanglish.... but at any rate he would just be a very smooth golfer. :)"
Rob from Nuneaton, England
says:
"The game of golf has sometimes been portrayed as "stuffy". For example, you must wear a shirt with a collar,
you're not allowed to do that etc. I (and my money) was turned away from a golf course last year because
I was wearing "trainer socks" with my spikes (with shorts - it was a hot mid summers day). How is any future Sergio, Vijay, Tiger or Ernie going to enjoy golf if they have to adhere to boring ettiquitte of the
course? A reminder to all the Collar and tie golfers of the world - The aim of golf is to complete 18 holes in the lowest score possible, and has nothing to do with
whether your shirt has a collar or not. Sergio - you are the bridge that can link the the stuffy golf world with the best players' future. You have the ability to compete with any golfer in the world and the character and charisma to attract younger players
to the game. I also believe that you can be number 1 in the world. You will win a major in 2k5. We're all rooting for you."
Grant Lloyd from England
writes:
"I'm Grant - I am 13 years old and I think you are great Sergio. What are you now
- 12th in the world? I think you could go all the way to number one. I have all faith in you in every competition you enter.
You are my idol - I want to be as good as you someday. My handicap is 17;
I would love to have a round of golf with you and you could give me some tips maybe.
Good luck from Grant."
Brittany D. from St. Augustine, FL
says:
"Sergio, I am not going to tell you how hot you are (even though I do think
that), but I do want to tell you that I think that you are a very talented and enthusiastic golfer. I love your passion for the game! I love watching you
play! I especially love the respect that you have and show for your fellow competitors!!!
I hope you win some more, but if you don't, try not to be so hard on yourself! Keep up the passion and take care!"
Karen A. from Michigan
writes:
"Hola Sergio! I use to be an avid golfer and was quite good. My father told me at the age of 16 that I needed to make a decision of whether to choose tennis or golf and excel in one. I chose tennis and found out it wasn't my fathers choice and therefore I lost his support with virtually everything. I wish he would have verbalized this to me rather than shut me out. Afterall I was only 16. That was a huge decision for me.
Now watching you Sergio, I have found my love for the game again. You make me giggle with your humorous behavior and laugh. I sit here rooting you on as you sink your awesome putts and feel for you when you just miss a putt or off in the rough -- however you always have a smile on your face and confidence in yourself and your competitors. Such a wonderful and enjoyable golfer to watch and to feel what you're feeling after you've finished your swing. It's an amazing feeling! Gracious Sergio!! Keep smiling and having fun out there! To watch you fills my days and weekends with fun and my competitiveness. Thanks for all you do!!! Keep Winning and being who you are!!! Adios Amigo!!"
Pete B from Reading, England
says:
"I thought Sergio stood out as a supreme all round golfer during the Ryder Cup last weekend. His whole attitude was exemplary and a great example to all up and coming young golfers. He was full of encouragment for his own team, and his attitude to the opposition was marvellous. A great golfer and a great sportsman."
Linda G from Florida
writes:
"Sergio Garcia just lost me as a fan. I think his comments at the news conference were deporable. He needs to be put in a corner and have his weekend activities taken away.
I was a member at Lake Nona and a big fan but I will never cheer for him again unless he
apologises for his stupid comments. I have loved his exuberance in the past but he crossed the line and no one else did. Everything else about the Ryder Cup was done with golf as the winner."
Gerea D from Papua New Guinea
says:
"Hey Sergio I am an enthusiastic young golfer from Papua New Guinea and you are THE MANNNN!!!! I am 14 to be exact, turning 15 on the 8th of December, and I just think you are the bomb. Congratulations on your win and I know that more will be on its way.
Just letting you know that you have a die hard fan in this part of the world as well. STAP WANTAIM YOU SERGIO!!!!!"
Ainsley A. from Pennsylvania
writes:
"Hi Sergio! I just wanted to say that you are my favorite golfer and good luck at the PGA tournament. I saw
you at the US OPEN 2004 and you met my sister, Brynne. So Good Luck!"
Esther Chung from Guam
says:
"Hi Sergio. I played in the 2004 J.R. British Open at Kilmarnock Golf course in Scotland and so I got a once in a
lifetime chance to see you in real life. You're my favorite golfer ever and I really enjoyed watching you play at Royal Troon. And also wanted to say Congrats on winning the J.R. British Open long ago when
you were little..And I also wanted to thank you for allowing me to take a picture with you. I'll always cherish that picture cause it's really special to me..thanks"
Zoe.R from Scotland
writes:
"I think Sergio is an extremely talented golfer and he seems like a real cool
guy! I watched him play at the British Open in Troon today and noticed that he is not only amazing at golf but he is also SOOOOOOOOOOO HOT!!!!!"
Kaleigh F. from Southern California
says:
"I love everything about Sergio: his game, his charisma, his youth = his
"childish antics"...it's what makes more people entertained and attracted to the sport! Congrats and good luck Sergio!"
Sharon from SoCal
writes:
"I'm more of a tennis fan...but Sergio seems like a really cool guy, a real character (the
Marat Safin of golf for all you guys who know who Marat is haha) Maybe this is wrong, but he's the only reason I'm watching the US Open...Sergio Rox!"
Dobs Kelly from Ireland
says:
"Best golfer never to win a major...keep ur head at d US Open and u will have a chance on
Sunday...El Nino rocks."
Ali Lavinge from Gray, Texas
writes:
"I was real happy when he won this week!! He seems to be a really sweet guy, and I think he is fun to watch. He is my type of golfer!!!"
R. Sanchez from Milano
says:
"Congratulations, Sergio, on winning the 2004 Buick tournament. El nino no es un nino. Sergio, tu eres EL HOMBRE. You are truly an amazing man on the greens!"
Maggie in Atlanta

"I love watching Sergio at work. I only wish we could see him so much more often. Good luck with your game and your swing, Sergio, you are a great talent. Work hard so I can see you up close in Atlanta at East Lake this November!"
Meredith says:
"Congratulations on your accomplishment in the EDS Byron Nelson golf tournament."
Miranda Sanchez from
New Mexio writes:
"I luv watching Sergio play. It makes golf a tad bit more fun (to watch of
course). I luv how excited he gets when he gets a shot right; well I guess I luv everything about Sergio."
Ashley Z. from Missouri
says:
"Sergio is very talented and I think that is why he is sexy because he's
got it all. He is my number one golfer, and I wish I could meet him someday.
I try to watch the tournments he is in so it motivates me to become a pro someday."
Areal from Rome
writes:
"Very good at Byron. It is not so easy to begin the fourth day in first place and
mantain the leadership for the whole course."
Carlos Vazquez from
Connecticut says:
"I believe he is one of the best talents on Tour. His re-tooling of his swing
is likely to make him a multiple winner this season. Now if only
sportscasters and fans in general would call him by his name. His name is in Spanish, no matter where he plays. His name is pronounced "Serheo" - show respect for his heritage and ask him."
Shelby B. From Idaho
writes:
"What is there to say about Serge? He's hot, a great golfer, and he's really fun to
watch. (Did I mention he's HOT??!!!)"
Mayra from Texas
says:
"A lot of people say you are a "higado" but when my husband and I asked you for an autograph we noticed they were wrong you are a very nice person and a great player!!!! CONGRATULATIONS on your victory at the EDS Byron Nlson!"
Liam writes:
"Sergio is obviously talented and fun to watch specially when his
putts just keep falling in, but sometimes a bit too arrogant during press interviews...his comments after his (incredible) 4th round at the
Masters went a bit too far "he played well enough to win but had just bad luck". Phil is also amazing, but really humble therefore I respect him more."
An Argentinian
visitor says:
"¡ME ENCANTA! que mas puedo decir."
Cal Worthington in OKC
writes:
"I enjoy following Sergio. He has a lot of talent and is very gammie. Sometimes
maybe a little too gammie, but that's his style. So be quite Johnny Miller. Also, he could be my son's twin. He reminds me
a lot of him. Sharp and talented are just a few of his attributes. Just wish he'd play more here in the States."
Marty says:
"I think you are great. Your 66 in the Masters was outstanding. I may not watch a lot of golf but hubby does and I pick up on a lot of the action."
Pete from Iowa
writes:
"He's the Arnold Palmer from Spain - brings same charisma to the game as Arnie has for 50 years. Sergio, what if you hold your head still over the putt for a second after you hit it?"
A visitor says:
"I'm watching the Masters right now and I have so much respect for
Sergio. I play golf on the 7th grd. golf team and he is my role model (I hope he wins).
Go Sergio."
Carol writes:
"Sergio es simplemente especial."
Mel from Yorkshire
says:
"This guy is real. Real talented, real cool, real cute too (like that affects why
I watch him, lol). But where you been recently, Serge? Come back to form and give us some of your sizzlin'
Spanish passion...it ain't the same without ya."
A visitor writes:
"We attended the Scottsdale Open Pro-Am last Wed. and watched many top golfers. My husband, son and grandson were standing near Sergio when he motioned to throw them a ball (I'm sure for my 15 month old grandson). What an unexpected kindness from such an important man. We will never forget his kind gesture."
