COMMENTS FROM 2005:
Simon Overthrow in
the UK says:
"Six majors - that says it all. Nick would of won the major slam. He had a putt on
the last green to win the 1988 US Open and a putt on the last green to get in a playoff for the 1990
US Open, also a little putt missed on the 16th or 17th to get into the 1993
US PGA playoff. However my greatest memory of Faldo was the 1996 US
Masters to beat Greg Norman with all that emotion going on. The strength of character needed was awesome."
Jon Batty from South Yorkshire,
UK writes:
"There are many words that could sum up Nick's way of golf and life. Awesome
being one of them. For me, it's the true attention to detail he places in his swing. Tie this in with the rhythm and tempo like he possesses and
it's all a win win situation."
COMMENTS FROM EARLIER:
Catherine, from Northwest Ontario
says:
"I think Nick can still win a major. He has the ability and 'drive' it takes. I'm waiting patiently and watching all his results."
Rich fom the UK
writes:
"Nick has always been unfairly labelled a mechanical golfer when in reality he's very naturally gifted. Even with the flawed technique he had before his work with David Leadbetter (in 1985) he was still an excellent player. Nick took the game up as a thirteen year old and just a few years on he was winning many amateur titles. By 1983 he was arguably the best player in europe having won the order of merit. This was all achieved with his original slidey hipped high swinging method."
L Swann from W11
says:
"I think that Nick is the best English player ever and does not get the respect
& recognition he should get. If he came from the USA he would be god."
Monica from Minnesota
writes:
"He is one of the few golfers that has the mental and physicial game to beat
Tiger. Even though he is in his forties, he still one of the best!
(Extremely good looking too)."
Lisa from Ireland
says he's her favorite because...
"He's tall and hunky."
Rich B from Rotherham,
UK writes:
"He's English through and through and tries his heart out week in week out..the practise and commitment he puts in is outstanding and I believe that if he didn't wear a cap and silly sunglasses that he could still be a winner...Look back at the 'Good Faldo days', you never saw him in a cap then..."
