Butterfly asks:
"Is he getting married?"

A fan writes:
"David you're my favorite golfer that ever played on the tour and always will be. Keep playing I always enjoy watching you. Good luck."

Katie from Wisconsin says:
"Alright, so I was at the PGA tournament at Whistling Straits and I gave David a banner to sign and he was extremly rude to me and said "no dice." Granted he is still my favorite player that really turned me off because it was very rude of him to say no dice. He could have at least just walked away or said no thanks." (Editor's note: I know a lot of players are wary of signing big stuff like this, because all too often it ends up on sale at eBay the next day. Not saying that's what you intended Katie, but it might explain why oftentimes a player is fairly dismissive of some autograph requests.)

Cheryl and Frank from PA write:
"Hi David, my wife and I watch alot of golf on TV and we sure are missing you. That's why I am on the computer looking for some info on what you're doing. Hurry back - you're as good as the rest of them. God bless."

Chris, 15, Tennessee says:
"I have a renewed interest in golf now that you are playing again. It is always a pleasure to watch you play, I hope that you continue to do well and succeed in everything you do."

Joey writes:
"It was good to see you out there again. Your presence makes the tour a better place."

Shiz from NZ says:
"David Duval is the greatest golfer to have played on the PGA Tour. Ever. It's great to see him playing golf again and I know he will return to the birdie machine he once was."

A fan in State College writes:
"I am delighted you are back, playing at Shinnecock. You have been blessed with talent and opportunity. You have worked hard...Give yourself credit and continue your faith. Great days on the course (and in life) are again ahead of you."

Larry R. Jackson says:
"David, as your name means..."the beloved one"...we love you and your PGA golf game. Stay strong..."

Dennis from Massachusetts writes:
"Welcome back, David! Just have fun at the Open..."

Kenny says:
"Native Floridian, I have lived in Pensacola as well as Jacksonville. David the game misses you. Hurry back."

Jim from CA writes:
"The man has more character than many. He is not the "pro-puppet" that many others are. He doesn't bow to the sponsors (why would anyone wear that Ford logo). He is his own man. He has a pure swing, strong mind (as opposed to the others who avoid controversy), and sense of purpose. He might be back. If so, we welcome him. If not, he had a great run and will enjoy his life."

Donald Duvall from Palm Desert, CA says:
"I know you will come back to golf greater than ever. I just came back after a lot of rehab from having a stroke. Man I was paralyzed left side for a spell but you just gotta do it. The only similarity to our golf games is my last name."

ADB from New Mexico writes:
"David, the mind is a most powerful THING. It can heal, it can hurt, whichever way you want it to be. I was given a second chance in life and so can you have that without the thought of not doing your thing. You are a great player and I miss you not being out their. Tell yourself that it is going to happen. And in your mind you know it is no matter what the stress is, it will heal if you tell it to."

Marvin from Norman says:
"Take your time, but know that the PGA isn't the same without you being there. Wish you the best."

Rich writes:
"David Duval has been my favorite golfer since he joined the tour. I appreciate his approach to the game. I have a big poster of David on my wall in my gameroom. Buddies of mine say to replace it as his career is finished. I totally disagree. David's time will come again, and he will be back on top."

A visitor says:
"Saw David out to dinner last weekend in Denver. Looked happy. David is living here now, in a place you don't see many pro golfers. I don't get the feeling you'll be seeing him any time soon......"

A visitor writes:
"Come on buddy, we love you, you are a great player!!! We miss you."

A visitor says:
"I think David is wasting his talent. You know how many guys would love to be in his shoes?"

P. Chartier, Montréal, Canada writes:
"The PGA Tour is not the same without David Duval. He is true to himself and will not compromise. Hope he will be back soon."

David G. from Ohio says:
"I agree if he has read any of these comments why hasn't he replied? At least said thanks to everyone?"

Bruce from Massachusetts writes:
"We miss you in 2004!"

Josh from NY says:
"You people type on here like he's reading these saying "oh good, that's what's wrong with my game, it's what Greg from Ohio says about my turn" blah blah. Honestly, he's not seeing any of this people, sorry." (Editor's note: what makes you so sure...?)

Ben W. from Ohio says:
"David is, without a doubt, my favorite golfer. It is his swing. It is his wonderful attitude. It is his way of handling the game. It is his total calmness no matter how he is playing. He has been my favorite golfer since I started watching golf, and I will remain loyal to him. I will do this because he will surely come back strong. It will happen."

Eric from Two Harbors, MN, writes:
"David, I hope to see you play the PGA Championship at Whistling Straits this year. I have a feeling you and Phil Mickelson will be in the final group on Sunday. Always pin high and tight!!"

Virgil from Ferst Street says:
"I have a video tape of the final round of the 2001 Open Championship. I view it from time to time, just to remind myself why the name "Duval" still tops my list of favorite golfers. The best part is a particularly long shot Duval played out of the deep rough, with a six iron, as I remember. As he addressed the ball, a nameless commentator chimed in with something to the effect of "he won't be able to get on the green from there." Within seconds, Duval's ball was on the green, what, about twenty feet from the hole? I did not hear another peep out of her all day. In short, Duval has what it takes to play at the top and silence the naysayers."

John in Tulsa writes:
"Quite simply....DON'T LET THE BASTARDS GET YOU DOWN!"

Shawn in Chicago says:
"David...just remember Agassi. He came back and so will you."

A visitor writes:
"David, you're my man...your swing is too beautiful to be forgotten. Congrats on the wedding. I hope you'll be the first man ever to shoot 58 on the Tour... I know you'll be back on top."

Marsha from The Villages says:
"Hi David - I was so thrilled last year following you around the TPC at Avenel in 2003 when you had such a great round. Thanks for signing my hat - whenever I wear it, I have positive thoughts and shoot a great round. Davis Love is confident you will be back on top by mid-season 2004 and he seems to be a pretty smart guy. I'm sure he's right. We just moved to Florida and hope to follow you around either Bay Hill or Sawgrass this season. I like Phil and Ernie, but you are my favorite!"

David from Dallas writes:
"We all want to see you back at the Players or Augusta in 2004, we respect that you're taking your time. We all know it will come back, and we just want to see you on the course again. Good luck!"

Constantino from N.J. says:
"David, you have been my favorite golfer for as long as I could remember. I remember waking up in 2001 one day and hearing the T.V. "story here today at the British Open is David Duval." Don't worry, that day will return. I am a Division 1 golfer myself and have endured swing changes and health issues. Just hang in there, you can go lower than anyone in the world. Just do what you did when you went low for one tournament last year and everyone thought you were going to shoot a 59 again. You still obviously have your game, just get your mind out of your swing. I always thought you had the best swing, don't change. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!"

Tommy Moffitt - Scottsdale, writes:
"David, I miss seeing you play. Your turn isn't too flat but clear your left shoulder so the right is closest to the ball at impact."

Kevin Murray from McDonough, Georgia says:
"The rest of these comments all miss the mark. You know it and I know it. I've been right where you are...not the fame and fortune...but the reaching of one's goals and realizing they're still not enough.

I spent years analyzing things...such too is my nature...I read everything in sight...Until I finally found The answer...not an answer...The answer!

The fact of the matter is whether you ever get back to top form in golf is wholly irrelavent. Don't let other people tell you what your purpose in life should be. That you found winning the British to be unfulfilling is a testimony to your insight. You recognize that we all are created for a greater purpose. Those who reject that are destined to live lives of quiet desperation.

When we turn to God through the redemptive sacrifice of His Son on the cross, the "reason" for our lives becomes clear.

David, you like to read. Please read the Book of Ecclesiastes in The Old Testament. I think you will be able to relate."

Mark from Virginia writes:
"Even with the lack of success over the past few years, David Duval still has an obvious presence comparable to Michael Jordan, Phil Mickelson & even Tiger. I can remember like it was yesterday, the rush along with the adrenaline I would feel when watching him explode to the top of the leaderboard at the masters! Even when he is not in contention I love watching the guy and look forward to his return in 2004."

Jim Donnelly, Scotland says:
"David Duval is one of sport's true gentlemen. His constant display of true sportmanship is second to none. I wish him good health and look forward to seeing him contend The Open at Royal Troon. The end of the tunnel is near."

Randy from Georgia writes:
"David Duval said he won't return until his game is right. I just don't see him skipping the Players Championship or Augusta. He plays his best after long breaks. Maybe a win at the Masters is probable? I sure as hell hope so."

A visitor says:
"David - Keep your chin up. It will come back to you. You gotta believe. Good luck in
2004. We are pulling for you."

Bill from Virginia writes:
"Have seen him at Augusta and at the Anheuser Busch tournament - wonderful swing tempo and temperament - shot 66 at Augusta and looked like it could've been several strokes lower - I am one of thousands of fans who pull for him"

A visitor says:
"strong grip... let it do its work baby!! You did it your way from day 1... now keep on doing it your way."

Doug, Kingston PA writes:
"It is very nice to follow around my favorite golfer every year at the Players Championship and the Buick Classic. The family around you are the nicest people. I was walking around and your Dad was buying people beers left and right, just having a good time. He was so nervous for you he couldn't stop pacing around with your extra driver in his hands the whole round. Hope all future endeavors are looked upon with great focus and desire. The only way to be a champion is to expect it to happen every time. Your biggest and truest fan, long and strong through the years. Hit the halfpipe baby YEAH"

Glenn Carnevale - "future tour pro" says:
"I know what you need and I also know you disagree. You simply need to reconsider working with Butch Harmon. Not to re-learn golf but to get the 1999 swing back (as Eddie Merrins said, your swing isn't too much different). Try it, Butch is one of the best. I really think that's the answer. Good luck."
