COMMENTS FROM 2005:

"Spats" from Ohio says:
"I follow Mark's golf like most fans follow Woods and Michelson. Although I have never met Mark, I just like him. It must be the name."

COMMENTS FROM 2004:

Joe in Fountain Hills, AZ writes:
"I have followed Mark's career since I moved to the Phoenix area in 1996; I always follow him around the course st the Phoenix Open; In January of 2001 at the Phoenix Open on a Friday I watched Mark shoot a course record. My father was admitted to Scottsdale hospital intensive care the day before (Thursday). After the tournament on Friday I went directly to the hospital to see my dad; the first thing he said to me was "how did Calc do?" I told him and that brought a big smile to his face. My dad passed away a week later."

Dennis Swanson from Aurora, IL says:
"I met Mark at a People Soft outing at Royal Fox Country Club in St. Charles, IL. I was the hired photographer to do photos of the foursomes with Mark. We got to the 1st tee a little early and I had the chance to share a story with him about a yearly tournament I have with a buddy of mine called "The Paw Paw Classic". It's just the two of that play every 4th of July weekend in this farm field of a course in Paw Paw, IL. We have a pewter cup as a trophy and every year we engrave the name of the winner (Like the Stanley Cup!) Mark got a kick out of the story and even was nice enough to pose for a picture with me & "The Cup" since I was FINALLY the current champ! Mark's a great guy and it was really nice meeting him. If you're reading this Mark, John Rollins has a copy of the picture we took. He was supposed to give it to you at the Western Open, but you're not playing this year. Thanks again for the GREAT photo!"

James J. Quirk writes:
"I met Mark in 1993 at Baltusrol. I was 13 and involved in local junior golf in Myrtle Beach, S.C. I originally was from N.J. My Dad and myself helped out on the driving range for the tournament and when Mark witnessed my talent, he reached into his bag and gave me his Taylor Made driver. I have cherished it over the years. I am now 24 and still a scratch golfer."

COMMENTS FROM 2003:

Dale Doelling from Burr Ridge, IL says:
"I've known Mark for over 20 years and if they ever develop a golf, billiards, and bowling combined Pro tour, I'll put ALL of my money on Calc. We played golf together many years ago at Eagle Trace with Ken Green and some of our friends from Palm Beach County where he shot a low number (can't remember the exact score), then went to shoot pool (where he ran the table a couple of times), and then, to top it all off, he rolled a 299 game at bowling. I'd never seen anything like it in my life!"

JK writes:
"He played so well in Houston, I was sad he didn't finish first. Those "old" guys looked pretty good in the last group. Here's to hoping he gets the chance again soon."

I, Shari Rissler, Promes, was Mark's Elementary Physical Education Teacher @ Laurel, NE starting in 1966. I have followed his pro-golf activities over the years. We have a 4 1/2 hole golf course on our farm. I invite Mark to try. (Editor note: if you're reading this Mark, I have Shari's email address if you want to get in touch.
